You, Provider of Escape

In this our day all of my dreams are fulfilled.
The monsters are hurled down;
It's woe for earth and sea.
You are enthroned on mountains
As lord and king
So I sing:
"You shall provide escape."

And you reply:
"Fear not those that kill the body
But cannot destroy the soul.
Faithful to the end continue;
I shall help you reach your goal."

Now each day pressures come to trest strength and power;
The evils of this world
Attacks me tauntingly.
My thinking and my conduct
I must keep pure
To endure
And, in the end, escape.

In answer say:
"Fear not those that kill the body
But cannot destroy the soul.
Faithful to the end continue;
I shall help you reach your goal."

Soon the monsters shall be crushed in a final war,
And mourning, outcry, pain
And death will be no more.
As all is renewed heavens and earth below,
All will know
By you I have escaped.

With your promise:
